Chicken (Turkey) Mornay

So, it's leftover turkey time. Our favorite recipe this time of the year is for Turkey Mornay. A friend from long long ago gave me this recipe. She made it for me when my babies were born. It is a favorite around here. Thanks, Zinda.

3 whole chicken breasts or one whole chicken (or, a bunch of turkey)
2 packages (10 ounce) frozen broccoli spears (I usually use fresh broccoli)
1 can cream of chicken soup
2/3 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup milk
3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
2 tablespoons white cooking wine, or white wine
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 tablespoon melted butter

Cook chicken and cut into 1/4 inch strips. Cook broccoli. Lightly butter 9x13 casserole dish and line with broccoli. Place chicken (turkey) strips on top of broccoli.

Combine soup, mayonnaise milk, cheese and wine. Pour over chicken strips. Mix bread crumbs and melted butter together. Sprinkle over top of casserole. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes (until lightly browned and bubbly).
